The Pit of Horror and Dallas Movie Guide present…
UNIQUE PRESENTATION OF HORROR FILMS SPLATTER DENTON’S MOVIE TAVERN EACH MONTH FOR MIDNIGHT SCREENINGS
WHO: Friday Night Frights, presented by the popular horror website PitofHorror.com and the recently launched DallasMovieGuide.com
WHAT: Midnight horror flicks from many sub-genres that range from blockbusters to the obscure. From Freddy and Jason to Italian gorefests and cult classics - there will be something for everyone from the casual, curious moviegoer to the horror fanatic.
WHEN: See our MySpace page for dates. Friday night screenings are at Midnight, doors at 11pm.
WHERE: The Movie Tavern in Denton, TX. 916 West University Drive on the NW corner or University and Carroll.
PRICE/RATING: Tickets are $10 at the box office and in advance at www.myspace.com/fridaynightfrights, Rated R. Our last show was a sell out so it is highly recommend patrons buy their tickets in advance.
WHY: Because there’s nothing else like this in the D/FW area for loyal fans of the genre. Every showing will be a special presentation of films either in 3-D, from a print not available on DVD or a special guest appearance (usually a director or actor from the film). Also, the Movie Tavern is a great place to eat, drink and enjoy a classic show with an appreciative audience.
OTHER POINTS OF INTEREST:
Pit Of Horror:
Pit of Horror’s (www.pitofhorror.com) John Gray recently announced that he is directing a film of his own called “Job” (pronounced JOBE), being produced by Snapkick Productions (Sin-Jin Smyth). The film will star Lee Perkins, Michael Pare (Eddie and the Cruisers) and Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects). More information can be found at www.faithkills.com or www.myspace.com/jobthemovie. Gray also oversees the Guts and Gory forum (www.gutsandgory.com) of the Pit of Horror website, which hosts the official message boards for many of the genre’s stars.
Dallas Movie Guide:
Paul Salfen’s Dallas Music Guide (www.DallasMusicGuide.com) has merged with Media G, who has developed city guides in nine other markets (including New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas) based on his model. Salfen plans to follow the same path with Movie Guides in several markets later this year. He is also a member of the D/FW Film Critics Association and often hosts panels at several area conventions and screenings.
